This shielded Pfeiffer sealing gas valve (purge valve) for HiPace 300, 300C (chemical resistannt), 350, and 450 turbo pumps with a TC 400 drive unit screws into the G 1/8" (BSPP) sealing gas port of the pump (sealing ring and filter included). It prevents the ingress of damaging substances, such as corrosive materials into the motor and bearing area of the pump. The use of this sealing gas valve also ensures proper rotor cooling and protects the pump from being damaged by high gas throughput (> 50 % of the pump's maximum). This valve allows a suitable, constant flow rate of inert gas (12.5 - 15 sccm @ maximum 1.5 bar absolute) into the pump. This 24 VDC normally closed (NC) electric solenoid sealing gas valve has Pfeiffer part number PM Z01 312 A.
This valve has an M12 electical connector that plugs directly into one of the accessory ports in the turbo pump's integrated TC 400 drive unit. The TC 400 drive unit controls and supplies power to the valve. Note that the activation (control) of this valve for the sealing gas connection is not pre-installed in the electronic drive unit and must be configured by the using a Pfeiffer controller (OmniControl 200 or DCU 110) or externally via RS485.
