この NW50 KF50 フランジ用 EVAC チェーンクランプは、エラストマー (Viton/Buna) ゴムシールを UHV (超高真空) 金属シールに変換するためのものです。これにより、エラストマー (Viton/Buna) ゴムシールに比べて真空度が低くなります。その他の利点としては、ガス放出の低減、浸透なし、炭化水素なし、放射線および高熱に対する耐性などがあります。結果として得られる UHV シールのヘリウム漏れ率は 1 x 10 -11 標準 cc/秒未満です。また、150°C (302°F) まで繰り返し焼くこともできます。EVAC チェーンクランプとアルミニウムナイフエッジシールは、接続する KF フランジ間の UHV 真空シールを形成します (上の右端の図を参照してください - クリックして拡大します)。
